We want everyone to be able to read KPsphere's research, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or reduced motion. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, as the guide for what we fix. This site has not had an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim that it conforms.
What is in place
- Every page that carries the site's menu has a "Skip to content" link as the first thing the keyboard reaches, and its content is marked as the page's main region.
- In reports, a data table whose first row holds its column labels in bold is marked up with column headers, so a screen reader can announce them.
- The animated backgrounds on the main pages show a single still frame when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Background video loops play muted, and they are hidden when your device asks for reduced motion.
- YouTube players load only when you press play.
- The email sign-up fields have labels that screen readers read.
Known gaps
- The PDF reports sent to paid subscribers are not yet fully tagged for screen readers.
- Podcast episodes do not have transcripts yet.
- Some charts and figures in reports have no text description, and some older report tables do not mark their header row.
- Not every video has a caption track of its own; some rely on YouTube's automatic captions.
